If the final deadline for payment of debt passes, and you have not cleared your debt to the University, we will be required to enforce your withdrawal from the University. If you hold a student visa, this will also result in the withdrawal of your visa sponsorship.

What Can I Do Now?

  • Despite your enforced withdrawal you are still required to pay all outstanding tuition fees you remain liable for. Details regarding fee liability points can be found within the Student Finance Regulations. Fees can be paid via an approved payment method (see related articles)

  • Once you have been identified for enforced withdrawal you will not be eligible to study, attend classes, or submit assessments.

  • This decision is final and cannot be appealed

What if I clear my outstanding debt?

If you clear your outstanding debt by the deadline you will not be withdrawn and you will have your IT access reinstated.

If you do not clear your debt by the deadline, the withdrawal will stand, there will be no further opportunity to appeal this decision. It is very important that you pay your outstanding debts as you will be subject to consequences of non payment, including debt collection, so should always aim to clear your debt in full.

I’m a visa holder – what does this mean for me?

If you are studying on a UK Student Visa your sponsorship will be withdrawn, and you will need to take appropriate next steps.

If you return to your home country, in line with UKVI compliance requirements, we will need evidence that you have left the UK in the form of the following:

  • Your boarding pass and fight ticket; and

  • The passport entry stamp obtained at your home country’s immigration point of entry.

This must be provided within 40 calendar days from the date your sponsorship was withdrawn.

If you decide to regularise your stay in the UK, we will need evidence of your new visa application in the form of the following:

  • A full copy of your visa application, including the online submission form;

  • Your biometrics appointment confirmation (if provided by the UKVI); and

  • The outcome of your visa application (if issued by the UKVI)

This must be provided within 40 calendar days from the date your sponsorship was withdrawn.
